Halloween 2008

Happy Halloween! Here are some pictures from our trick-or-treating in Wilmette at our friends' Brandy and JT Todd's house. Aidan was Spiderman and Keegan was a lion. Reed, our neighbor, was the tiger and they all joined Alex and Kate Todd with their friends and neighbors for a really fun night. Aidan was a "flash" bolting from one house to the next. He actually came home with the most candy!! Believe it or not!
Keegan and Reed figured out the whole "get candy from stranger's house" routine really quick!! Keegan wanted to eat each candy right then!
Enjoy!

Bring on the Pumpkins!

We visited the Balows in Michigan last weekend and took a big outing to Miller's Big Red Apple Farm and Pumpkin Patch. It was VERY cold and windy, but the kids had a great time picking apples and playing with the pumpkins!

Brendan's 35th Birthday

Happy Birthday Brendan!! We celebrated Brendan's 35th Birthday with the boys before mom and dad headed out to a nice and relaxing dinner!! I think Keegan enjoyed the cake the most!

Keegan prepares for WINTER

The leaves are falling and so are the temperatures so I figured it was time to bust out the winter gear and make sure that little Keegan is all outfitted and ready to go! Aidan's hand-me-downs are little bit big but I think they will do! What do you think? I am not sure if Keegan is going to really be happy when it gets REALLY cold outside!!

Aidan's Pumpkin Creation

Aidan and Keegan got a free mini-pumpkin from the Lincoln Park Zoo on Saturday and as soon as we got home, Aidan raced to the kitchen and grabbed a knife insisting that he carve his pumpkin "now"! We were able to hold him off for a little bit but here is the final creation (with a little help from Dad!)

A trip to the zoo and Harvest Days

We headed out for a little Fall fun this past Saturday at the Lincoln Park Zoo's Harvest Days. The boys hit the pumpkin patch, the blacksmith demo, "tractor races" and more Fall activities. Here are a few pictures.... and the best part of it all -- I got a call today from the events manager at the zoo that Aidan was one of four lucky winners drawn to take home one of the four "John Deere tractors" that were used for the tractor races. So now Aidan is flying around Uptown aboard his new wheels, his four-wheeler!! (It's the same one shown in the picture!) Isn't he lucky!!!!!!!

Where have you been???

Ok, so I've slacked off and failed to make a new post to this blog in many months, but I figured today was a good day to get back in the routine! Aidan had a BIG day and went to preschool for the first day. This is a new preschool through the Chicago Public Schools and he will be going Monday - Friday (do you hear someone cheering?). For the past two weeks he has been going to a park district preschool twice a week. As of today he will be going to both, at least we will try! So enjoy the pictures and I will post some more from out busy weekend and Aidan's BIG prize!!

Aidan goes to preschool - his very first day!

He's thinking - "I am not sure what to do - there is s much to see!"
" This is fun! Mom are you going to stay all morning?"
Aidan got on to the routine very fast! He loved the books!

And the morning was done. This was pick up time. Mom met him in the cafeteria as he was eyeing lunch for the bigger kids.

Aidan's first day at preschool

Aidan is ready for his first day of preschool at Courtenay Language Arts School
He says he doesn't want to go but doesn't he look ready?
We're right down the hall from Miss Kamille's class - Aidan's new teacher.
Here we are at Miss Kamille's class and we're ready for our first day!
Hummm... what do I do next?? This looks like fun!

Our lil Pirate

Here's Aidan in his pre-bed time adventure. Tonight's bed time book was about pirates, hence the costume!

Keegan's on the move!

Keegan is quickly getting the hang of walking. Here are a few shots of him today, as he cruised across the family room. He's been taking a few steps here and there for a many weeks but now he is really catching on.
